The Pound arts centre is a renovated, former Victorian primary school on Pound Pill, Corsham.

Opened in October 2007, the arts centre hosts a wide range of live events, film screenings, workshops, exhibitions, community groups, and other activities throughout the year.

Managed and run by The Pound Arts Trust, the building has a café bar, three artists’ studios, a gallery, four rooms available for hire, as well as the 130-seat auditorium.

In 2022, a public garden was created at the rear of the old school, and plans to update the courtyard into a working/learning garden space as well as an outdoor seating area, are moving forwards.

The Pound Arts Trust is also responsible for running the Rural Arts Touring scheme across the whole of Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire; providing access to high quality artistic events (theatre, music, family shows) in villages and communities across the two counties.

The Pound arts centre is the main venue for two festivals during each year: ‘The Blue Sky Festival’ in June – a family-focused week of events – and ‘Magic and Mayhem Festival’ in November; a series of more eccentric shows, that includes the Mayhem Cabaret.

As a not-for-profit charity, The Pound Arts Trust, relies on visitors, ticket sales, hirers and donations to continue it’s work. You can read more about the Trust’s aims and mission statement at www.poundarts.org.uk.

The building is open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 9.30pm, and closes later on show days.
